That's the idea behind the new app and project created by The Lunchbox Fund, a nonprofit that provides daily meals to disadvantaged school children in South Africa.
If you enjoy eating out and sharing pics of your meals on social media, then this app is perfect for you. And it's free!
All you need to do is download the app, visit a participating restaurant then take a photo of your meal and share it online. When your photos are shared on your social networks, the restaurant makes a donation to The Lunchbox Fund. The restaurant also invites others to become feedies to see how many meals other friends have donated.
"Your food not only looks and tastes good, it does good," the campaign says.
However, the only participating restaurants are in NYC. Hopefully this campaign will spread and make its way into other major cities like Washington, D.C. and Boston.
On Oct. 9 the Lunchbox Fund will be hosting a Fall Fete in NYC featuring co-chairs Liv Tyler, Maggie Gyllenhaal and organization spokesperson Mario Batali. The benefit will feature an auction of original and editioned artwork.
