Most recently my coworker commented on how many tasty things she could find in my salad. She said she found it difficult to actually create a hearty salad.
So I thought it was about time to write a post on how to be creative with your salads and create something that not only will taste good but keep you full.
The pictures in this blog post are from a recent salad I made for lunch. It only took 10 minutes to put together before I headed into work.
Here is what I put in my entirely vegetarian salad. Hopefully it will give you some ideas to add to your next salad.
--Corn (from a can)
--fat free cottage cheese
--sliced tofu turkey strips
--mixed salad from a bag
--a splash of olive oil and vinegar. (Dressings are a key thing that can really throw off eating healthy when eating a salad. Some dressings are so fattening that it completely cancels out the low-fat salad.)
--sprinkling of cashews or almonds (I find any kind of nut really enhances my salad)
