It was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Oakland area. Our table tried an assortment of dishes including sauteed garlic green beans, tofu with mixed vegetables, tofu and shrimp rolls, bird's nest with vegetables and several other dishes that slip my mind.
The more interesting part about the dinner was what I observed before we were actually seated -- the snake juice. At the bar there was a large jar filled with what looked like water and a snake. I asked the bar tender what was in the drink.
The bartender told me it was a shot intended for longevity. Inside the jar was a real King Cobra snake--a dead one of course. It had been in there for six months. (eww!) There was also vodka, ginseng and other herbs-- a family recipe of sorts. The shot was only $7, but still not appetizing enough for me to try. Maybe another time!
The bartender said he used to take a shot every two weeks but has now cut back to just once a month to maintain his longevity and good health.
